Care Closets

The Junior League of Monroe’s Care Closets is a community-based initiative established to maintain hygiene closets in several local elementary and middle schools where the need is the greatest.

The JLM Care Closets are a FREE resource where we stock feminine hygiene products, along with other toiletry items such as soap, toothpaste, shampoo, and other essentials for students in need to discreetly access. We started this program 3 years ago with just 1 school, and are now in 11. It is the Junior League of Monroe’s desire that the students in these Ouachita Parish schools be able to attend school knowing that their basic hygiene needs are met, allowing them to focus on their education.

JLM Care Closet Committee is currently hosting a Hygiene Drive and would appreciate any help restocking our Care Closets. Listed below are the products most needed, but all items are welcome!

Currently, our MOST needed items:

  • tampons
  • feminine wipes
  • deodorant
  • period underwear
  • socks (all sizes; both sexes)
  • undershirts ( junior high students)
  • regular underwear (all sizes; both sexes)

You can drop these donations by the Junior League on Monroe located at 2811 Cameron St, Monroe, LA 71201 Tuesday – Thursday from 9:00am – 2: pm .
